Service Data Available
The Radio & Television Museum Library contains a huge collection of service data. (MAARC’s extensive library was merged with the Museum library.) Photocopy packages are available for most radio and TV sets prior to the 1960s, and some later ones. Photocopies of manuals for many models of test equipment and other gear (Heathkit, EICO, RCA, etc.) can also be had, as well as copies of articles from magazines such as QST, Radio News, Popular Electronics, and many others. The museum website (www.radiohistory.org) includes a listing of all the magazines in the museum library.
The cost of photocopying a radio or TV service data package depends on number of pages. For some radios, only a one-page schematic is available. For some high-end sets, there may be 20 or more pages available, and for this reason, the charge is based on the number of pages. Write, phone, or email inquiries to the museum librarian, Brian Belanger, who will check the availability of the data for your set(s) before you order and let you know the total cost (including six percent Maryland sales tax for Maryland residents).
Make checks payable to “Radio History Society.” Order from:
