DESCRIPTION:MAARC meeting at Davidsonville Family Recreation Center\nTailgating at 10:30 am\nWalk Around Auction at Noon\nMeeting at 1 pm\nMain Auction at 2 pm\nDisplay Table: Pre WW2 car radios\nPresentation: Brian Belanger – History of Arvin Radio \nHistory of Arvin Radios  \nMAARC member Brian Belanger will present the history of Arvin radios. Noblitt-Sparks Industries started as a manufacturer of car parts and introduced its first “Arvin” car radio in 1933. In 1935 they began making home radios\, including famous ones like the Hopalong Cassidy radio\, Rhythm King\, Rhythm Queen\, Phantom and others. In 1948 they produced their first television sets and produced some Hi-Fi radios and cheaper home radios into the 1960s. \nBrian is a long-time member of MAARC\, our head auctioneer\, and Curator of our sister organization\, the National Capital Radio and Television Museum in Bowie\, MD. \nFor the display table\, bring in your pre-WWII car radios\, especially Arvins! \nThis meeting will be held at the Davidsonville Family Recreation Center.
